About us

Ontario is home.
This is its buzz.

News, events, memes and community stories from every corner of the province.

Every town here has a buzz. A festival that takes over the main street. A recall your neighbour needs to hear about today. A road that closes right before your drive home. A volunteer who quietly holds the whole place together.

A lot of it never reaches the big feeds. Plenty of Ontario towns no longer have a paper of their own. The stories still happen. Someone just has to pick them up.

That is what we do. One feed for the whole province: Ottawa and Windsor, Hamilton and Sudbury, Kingston and Thunder Bay, and the small towns in between. If it matters to your community, it matters to us, and you'll see it here.

The best posts start with you. A photo from your street. Footage from your dash cam. A tip about the thing everyone in town is talking about. You send it, we check it, and it reaches the people who need to know. Send us a story any time.

For Ontarians. By Ontarians.

Where we stand

The lake keeps its name

Some things about this province are not up for debate.

On August 27, 2026, the President of the United States signed an order telling his agencies to rename Lake Ontario "Lake America" on their maps, and to strip the old name from their records.

Here is what that order cannot do. Canada keeps its own maps. Our own naming board decides what this country calls the lake, and it still says Lake Ontario. No signature in Washington changes that.

Mark Carney on X: the name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari'io, is more than 400 years old, and predates both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence. Canadians know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario, then, now and always.
Prime Minister Mark Carney, on X, August 2026

He is right about the history. Our province is named for the lake, not the other way around. You cannot rename something that was never yours to name.

So our neighbours can print whatever they like on their side of the border. The lake will not notice. Neither will we. The province is called Ontario. This page is called The Ontario Buzz. Some things you do not let go of.

How we work

What we promise

Four promises, and we keep every one of them.

  • We bring Ontario together. News, events and stories from every corner of the province, all in one place.
  • We help the locals. Small businesses, fundraisers, teams and volunteers: the people who make your town feel like home. We make sure their stories are heard.
  • Your story, your credit. We run on what you send us: stories and clips straight from your street. You choose: your name on it, or no name at all.
  • Canadian, and proud of it. Owned and operated in Ontario.
